Uptown Design District
The Uptown Design District is modern Palm Springs. It’s a must if you’re a design shopper. Everywhere you look, there’s mid-century and contemporary design in the form of boutiques, restaurants and studios. Workshop Kitchen + Bar isn’t your average restaurant, but it’s the kind of thing you find in this district. Industrially laid out, its soaring ceilings are met by the highest kind of concrete booths, lining the space that’s cut in half by full-length tables, all lit by suspended light bulbs. Fashion abounds here. Walk into the bold and colorful Trina Turk. Its latest lines are casual in nature and inspired by a road-trip lifestyle. Think fancy sweatshirts and woven tees. They’re the kind of clothes you can live in while looking amazing.
Palm Springs Villagefest
Palm Springs VillageFest transforms downtown into a lively street fair every Thursday night. Of course there are all of the regular clubs, shops and restaurants that line Palm Canyon Drive. Add in a variety of artists, entertainers and makeshift markets and you’ll be busy for hours. It’s a great place to pick up fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables – or snacks and desserts if you need a sugar rush!
